Special projects
Along with creating our treasures and the work that always goes on in the studio, KAYA has a variety of special projects from over the years.
We believe that every opportunity for free creation opens another door and we are happy to share them with you.
Here's a peek at some unique pieces made to order, special projects and exhibitions in which we took part.
Ancient jewelry
2013
A jewelry restoration which was made as part of my studies at Shenkar College in a course called "Ancient Jewelry".
The jewel is an Etruscan jewel (probably a mens bracelet) from the 7th century BCE and is made one to one (including defects) using the same ancient techniques used in the original piece.
In the pictures you can see the original jewelry (in gold) and the reconstruction next to it made from pure silver.
The original jewelry is displayed at The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland.
Pendant dimensions (H × D × Diameter): 19.6 x 0.6 x 1.9cm.
Silver glasses
2014
100% Handmade silver glasses which was made from silver 800 as a gift for my father.
The design, inspired by the letter Q, creates the illusion of one long line forming the whole frame.
Fiera di Vicenza – "Next Generation" exhibition
2016
One of the largest trade fairs in the world of jewelry is "Fiera di Vicenza" which takes place every year in Vicenza, Italy.
This project was made for the fair's "Next Generation" talent contest.
Under the theme of "Journey", the journey presented in this collection is the journey of a coin - a few silver coins which each one has its own story that gave it its look, uniqueness and beauty. The jewel/coin-holder makes it possible for the wearer to take the coins with her, to wear and replace them over time.
Balls ring
2018
A special ring made of natural 18k white gold and with 4 18k yellow gold balls moving freely in it. On each ball is engraved a Hebrew letter - the first letter of each grandchild's name.
Rina’s clock
2019
Rina Maimon is one of the most inspiring painters I know.
This piece, made from 14k yellow gold, is turning one of Rina's hallmarks, the clock, into a piece of jewelry.
In Rina's paintings the time is always 9.
the numbers were collected from different drawings so that every 9 that appears on the clock comes from a different drawing, in Rina's original manuscript.
On the back, the symbol of the sun and the moon appears.
Sun & moon necklace
2021
A beautiful necklace made to order as a gift from a daughter to her mother, handmade from natural 14k white gold.
